Meet Kit McCarthy (they/them), owner and operator of Kit's Cafe in York, Maine. Having a welcoming "third place" has always been important to Kit, and they dreamed of creating one of their own: a relaxed atmosphere full of friendly faces, a great cup, and a delicious snack. That dream finally came true in June 2026! They paired up with Grateful Gardens farm stand at Rocky Acres, and with so much love and support, Kit's Cafe has been blossoming there ever since.
Owner Kit believes that care shows up in the details. Every drink and sandwich (or "sammy") is crafted to order, so that everything is made just right, just for you. Each ingredient is carefully selected: from farm-fresh produce, to locally sourced goods, to syrups and sauces made on site with love. When you walk up to the trailer, the hope is simple: that you'll slow down, have something yummy, enjoy the garden, and let your shoulders relax for a while.
